Here is someone San Diegans – and OBceans — should know: the ranting White supremacist of Ocean Beach. Meet Nathaniel Maloney, an OB resident.
Maloney was identified as the white man shouting verbal threats and racial slurs at an African-American woman neighbor, who shot a video of the incident on a street in Ocean Beach. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, November 15.The vid circulated widely on social media.
The woman was walking to her car in her driveway when Maloney ran up to her, spit on her and then assaulted her by screaming the N-word at her over and over. He even tried to call the cops on her, claiming she had assaulted him.
At the end of the video, Maloney is seen walking away handcuffed with two San Diego police officers.
Still, despite the video footage and multiple eyewitnesses, the police checked her hands for scratches or bruises to check whether she actually attacked Maloney.

TikTok user @hindu_lovelyy originally shared the video on the platform went viral after it was reposted on Twitter by popular Twitter user @davenewworld_2.
According to the TikToker, she was walking over to her car in her own driveway when the man ran up to her, spit on her and assaulted her while screaming racial slurs at her. She added that the attack was unprovoked and the fourth hate crime she has been a victim of in Ocean Beach over the last year.
The video starts with the man screaming racial slurs at the woman while urging her to call the police.”Somebody call the cops on this n—-r!” the man is heard yelling. “Call the cops! 911 now! Call the cops, bitch. Call the cops! N—-r! N—-r! N—-r!”
“For what?” the woman responds.
“N—-r! N—-r! N—-r! Stupid, slutty n—-r!” the man continues to taunt the woman. “Call the f–king cops, n—-r!”
Moments later, the man claims to be calling the police himself.
‘He Attacked Me Out of Nowhere’
“He attacked me out of nowhere,” the woman can be heard telling a neighbor. “He came up to me, spit on me and hit me and has attacked me and it’s on tape.”
The neighbor invites the woman who is filming to come over to their house as she goes on to explain that she had recently been the victim of a sexual assault. The man continues to follow the woman while yelling out his name and address over the phone. Watch the video [inside this link].
The man was later identified as gay San Diego resident Nathaniel Maloney. Netizens tracked down Maloney’s Facebook profile and revealed a profane graphic attacking President Joe Biden as his last post. Towards the end of another clip of the incident, Maloney is seen in handcuffed being escorted by two police officers. It is not yet known what he has been charged with.

Well, to answer my own question, it’s not comforting to know but OB has always had its racists and white supremacists. Back in the 1970s, 2 guys used to parade up and down Newport wearing the full Klan regalia carrying a confederate flag. Never really got that one, but maybe this is what was meant.
Oh yeah, there’s always deranged f**kwits…oops, pardon me, ‘mentally challenged’ people everywhere and it’s not just OB or this country, it’s a species problem as everywhere you go you’ll likely bump into somebody like this.
STEP UP like this neighbor did by inviting the woman inside to get away from this guy, don’t stand on the sidelines, get involved. That’s what my stepmom used to say, that’s what Rey Leal of United Karate Federation of OB used to preach. It can be scary when confronting the rabid and foolish no doubt, but good for this neighbor that acted to intervene! There are good people in the world…

Why no mention of his sexual identity(LGBTQ)? Even Tariq Nasheed (a Black man) mentions this on his tweet within the linked article.

Its heartbreaking. I have no words, because it doesn’t matter if he’s vilified as a result, he’ll thrive on that. And even sadder, its not just OB, this is a very, very sad cultural element of our species. People who don’t know better, who have never learned better, who get some endorphin high from belittling and offending others that they think are somehow “lesser”. I don’t feel sorry for them, I have zero compassion for him and whatever upbringing shaped him this way, and I know in some ways that is my own failing. Because I don’t think we can “fix” people like this to quit hating. And so then, what do we do with them? I just hope this woman has been able to offset some of this with the fellowship of her neighbors, and I thank them for that.
I think there’s a difference between offending people for it’s own sake when the goal is to equally offend everyone (think shock jocks, comedians, punk rock bands like Fear and The Angry Samoans) and people who are truly racist like this guy.
I watched the related video and was astonished and outraged at the language that guy used toward the woman filming. I don’t care what took place before this incident (which appears to be nothing), racism and intimidation have no place anywhere, and especially not in OB. I used to live directly across the street from there!
Absolutely sickening. So when’s the rally Frank? Get the local nonprofits, churches, caring OBceans together and let’s make a loud point that racism is not welcome. That woman is a victim that should feel supported by this community, and we should all make a statement that this is wholly unacceptable.

Maybe this person figured out that the city loses most of the lawsuits filed against it. Perhaps he thought that if he got himself arrested, he could sue the city for some unknown reason, and win a lot of taxpayer money from the city. Nobody knows what kind of snakes dwell in some peoples heads.
The OB Rag has been contacted by people at the address Maloney shouted to tell the world he does not live there:
“I’m sending this email to avoid any further association with Mr. Nathaniel Maloney. He DOES NOT live at the address he is shouting. The previous day, when his mental snap began. He was accusing my husband and I of being white supremacist homophobes “out to get him”. We called 911. Due to his size, paramedics refused to show until police cleared the scene and after 6 hours of waiting, and no police presence his boyfriend contacted his therapist and calmed him down. The next day his meltdown began again, resulting in the video. We know the victim he attacked and are horrified and disgusted by what she had to endure.
We’ve already received post it notes plastered all over the front gate saying “racist” with our address. After seeing the threats online directed to our address, we left to stay in a hotel for a few days. Please understand we are just as outraged as the rest of you and have told his boyfriend to never let him step foot on the property again. Once more, Nathaniel Maloney DOES NOT live at the address he is shouting and is not there, nor will he be ever again.
Please, please put out a statement letting people know that he is not associated with the address he is shouting. It’s not safe for us to return home.”
The address he says in the video matches what’s listed online.
Perhaps he doesn’t have his name on the lease or recently moved, but he’s at least received mail there. This is relevant because censoring the address would require deleting the entire video.
kh: From the post my impression is that he’s now been 86’d out of there though his boyfriend will be as that person has been told to not to let him on the property “ever again.” So yeah, he was probably living/hanging there at the least along with getting his mail. But with the boyfriend obviously still be there this guy may show back up…what an ugly and sad scene this is.
So people should stop putting post-it notes full of pissy anger on their gate! Hear that, y’all? Leave those people alone as they are victims also!
And racists are everywhere. I’m 40 air miles from Canada and I drive by a house that has a Stars & Bars battle flag hanging down from the porch roof every time I head to town…and Trump for president signs. Big sigh.
