It’s official. The OB Town Council has five new members of the Board of Directors, all elected in the recent Special Election held after the mass resignations of four board members.

Their names and photos are up at the OBTC website.

And here they are (in alphabetical order of first names):

Good Question, Frank> The word on the street is still waiting for Stacy & Corey to resign so their is a NEW & Healthy Board with Strong Positive Energy~
~ If everyone takes time & reads all the comments over the last month people will see the tension that was put on a OB Community Organization! With those changes I and many others see the light in a Positive Group of people!
~ Two weeks ago I was at a event by the Waterfront & had four different people mention the OBTC needed a clean road to build a New Fresh OBTC~ A lot of people have their eyes open to see what happens !
“Spread the Joy of Positive Energy”
Claudia & many others!!

In brief: The VP role was discussed at the Sept Board meeting. I threw my hat into the ring as an interim VP since the Board votes for all Officers in March. The vote for a replacement VP was then sidelined so we can discuss what the VPs role actually is because based on the bylaws, the VP role is not very defined. It was also discussed that since the role has no real duties, that it was not an imminent need, so a decision was made to readdress the VP role at the next Board meeting. At that time we would look at what role/s the VP could have and if there is a need for multiple VPs (events, advocacy, etc). We were also considering waiting for March since many of the Board members will again be up for election in January. And because we have a lot of planning to do for all the regular events between now and the end of the year so many of us are trying to focus on getting our wonderful community events back in business.

The bylaws are also being reconsidered as it’s time to reevaluate them so all of this VP discussion is timely and relevant.

That’s it in a nutshell. We are all excited about the upcoming holiday fundraising events and hope to see you all chipping in where and when you can.

Thanks Tracy. Many of us knew you were be a good addition to the board. The reason the VP position is important is for 2 reasons: to have one on board in case Corey finds some sense and resigns; and second, it will show any “rising stars.”

Maybe this board will be able to get the city to enforce codes.
