The OB Rag is in the fifth day of our annual summer fundraising campaign and we need just a little more than $200 to reach our goal of $2,000.

As of this posting, we’ve received $1,765 in donations. We’re almost there!

Help us continue our coverage and analysis of local and regional goings-on. Help us continue to be the most grassroots progressive website in all of San Diego County.

Help us continue to provide a platform for the discussion of important issues.

We are totally funded by our readers and supporters. And we do have expenses, even on our shoe-string budget.

So, put some change into our can, will ya?

Figured you received my tiny donation check this week in the mail. It warms my heart to see that the fund drive went over what was hoped for by almost 25%. We may be broke out here in reality-land but there are a lot of people that care about the RAG, Frank!

My local ‘obrag’-like radio station KYRS.org ‘Thin Air Community Radio’ out of Spokane nearly made their fund drive, too, but their needed budget is a lot larger. And I sent three signed copies of my book that were given out on two different shows for those that donated above and beyond as bonus gifts along with my tiny donation check. Alternative radio and online news is always worth supporting as best we can…

Keep it up.

from an old native OB/MBcean surfer dude with warmest regards,

Okay, and thanks again, mi amigo. And thanks for being a “younger” brother of the OB Rag staff, you know, someone we’d hug if we saw you but also is susceptible to critiques of his views.

Yep, I am of the younger next-generation local beach-raised little surfer kids though it sure isn’t feeling like I’m all that young anymore I must admit. But you-all know how that goes I’m sure, eh?

And thank you for the compliment of calling me a younger brother worthy of a hug if I ever manage to get down to OB again. We don’t always agree but I’m sure we’d sit and chat about the world, maybe get to paddle out with Geoff (I’m still riding twinfins but 6’5″ instead of 5’10” and I do have a 9’6″ single fin scoop-nosed modern longboard because my paddle muscles are weak), but the odds of my making a 4000 mile round trip drive is pretty low seeing as all my San Diego family members have either stepped through the curtain or moved as I did. I still have two in Humboldt County, younger brother and a younger fem cousin, but the rest of us scattered far and wide.

As was said a long time ago, Keep on Trucking OB RAG! What else is there? Wear a mask!

I don’t want to appear ignorant, however, I don’t know where the OB Rag Donation can is located.
I would love to donate. Been reading the Rag since the 70’s.
