Ocean Beach Pier Sign Reminds Us that State of California Was Involved in Its Development – Perhaps It Can Help With Repairs or Replacement

The sign for the Ocean Beach Fishing Pier is right at the entrance on the concrete wall, before you get to the gate in the pier.

Reading the sign makes you realize that the State of California was involved in its development. Perhaps now that the state is flush with money, it can step in and help fund needed repairs or replacement.

Great suggestion Kathy!
Perhaps Biden’s infrastructure plan could help “The Pier”: if passed?

This may be a good opportunity for money from the WCB. In the past, it was dominated by the hook and bullet boys. Now, fortunately, there are appointees that favor the environment and non-consumptive recreational interests. They include the deputy director of the City of LA’s parks department, someone associated with the league of conservation voters, a woman with actual degrees in environmental planning, and, most importantly, Fran Pavley, who has been a tireless advocate for coastal resources and recreational opportunities as a mayor, legislator and coastal commissioner. Let’s hope!
