Here’s a Channel 8 news report about Ocean Beach in 1978 by reporter Cathy Clark.

It’s a great journey down memory lane for some – those of us who lived in OB that year.

But also, it’s a reminder of the problems OB has had over the decades. Check out the complaints by residents, businesses and visitors – do they sound similar?

The young man interviewed from the OB Planning Board is Lars Tolleson, one of the very first board members – having been elected in 1976.

Seriously, Editordude? No additional commentary to offer? No context, background? This is an awesome video. How did you dig it up? How did Cathy Clark come to do this piece? Wasn’t this during your heyday with the Planning Board? Didn’t you serve with Lars? Whatever happened to him?

Two people sent it to us, so it appears it’s been floating around. We all remember Cathy Clark. But it’s so ridiculously funny how the same complaints about OB in 1978 echo what we’ve heard these last few years.
