Widder Curry Hopes Our Vote Will Show ‘the Emperor Has No Clothes’

Sometimes I get so peeved at happenings going on around me.

Certainly the farce of acquittal of the dictator in the White House is an example of “the emperor wore no clothes.”  The stupidity or fright of all the Republican Senators – save one, Mitt Romney – has changed America for generations to come.

We may never heal from the horrible renderings of these balless people.  How can one ignorant man have so much power over the members of Congress is a mystery to me.

How the American people can support the bigot, racist, stupid man in the White House nauseates me.  How people can forget the children sleeping on the cold pavement; how people can forget children going hungry; how people can forget children not given soap and/or tooth paste is horrifying.

How people can accept a grown man, at least in years, making fun of everyone that he doesn’t like; of people with illness that they were not responsible for; of birth defects that has no known cure and still tell me that “ . . . he is the best president I have ever lived under and I am 72 years old,” makes me wonder if some horrible illness has permeated the brains of people so that they are unable to recognize right from wrong; that they think because someone lives in the White House he has to be respected even though he is a disgrace to America, absolutely sickens me.

America has changed since my Father came here from Hungary. America is changing since my Mother was born in Boston.  America is changing since I was born in Los Angeles.  America has changed since my first daughter was born in Los Angeles.  America had changed since her daughter was born in Coronado. America has changed since her daughter was born in Coronado.

Up until 2016, I would have said that although some of these changes were not the best, none of them were life-threatening; none of them would change our democracy into a dictatorship; none of them would discriminate against everyone that did not fit the mold in the mind of the president and his supporters.

But now, in 2020, I fear for the minorities; I fear for members of the LGBT factions; I fear for those of us that might have an “ongoing medical problem.” I not only fear for those people that have a different mind-set than the supporters of the man in the white house, I fear those people that have his mind set; I fear those people that think that this president is doing anything positive.

I can only hope that when we vote – by secret ballot – which is how the Senate should have voted on the impeachment question – this man and his supporters are shut down and we never have to deal with them again.  That democracy can return to America, and it becomes, once again, the “land of the free; the home of the brave.”  That the people that support this horrific president realize that he really was not the “emperor” and that he really wasn’t wearing clothes.  I can only hope.

I think initially, he appealed to a lot of people in struggling areas of the country with promises of jobs and reviewed prosperity. Since for the most part that didn’t happen I’m curious how the women featured in this article think now.
On the other side of the coin, there those who simply like him because he “sticks it to the libs” and get a genuine delight out of the suffering he’s caused. This is an article from October of 2016:https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/finally-someone-who-thinks-like-me/2016/10/01/c9b6f334-7f68-11e6-9070-5c4905bf40dc_story.html

Judi ….
Well said. I could not have expected more from you. I believe I am, by nature, a fearless person. I have the “risk gene”, and have at times paid the invoice. But, Judi, now I face a growing fear that life on the planet is situated on the precipice of extinction. There’s no point in listing the obvious threats here, preaching to the choir of common sense persons. I have profound regrets for what awaits the children of this generation in a dying biological system, thanks to the efforts a relatively small number of misguided, stupid humans. When, not if life on earth can no longer be sustained, Judi, the Universe will scarce take notice. Life on planet earth will be a temporary blip between two eternities.

Thanks Judi; I couldn’t have said it better. America is winning the race to the bottom.
We are under a fascist regime under the current administration. I never thought I’d experience this in America and certainly not in three short years. Shocking & disgraceful. Trump and his stooges are a stain on humanity.
