The Ocean Beach Planning Board has two residential development permits to review when it meets next, this Wednesday, Feb. 5, plus a review of stairway to replace the damaged one at the end of Bermuda, and a review of pedestrian improvements around OB Elementary School. The Board meets at the OB Rec Center, 4726 Santa Monica Ave., at 6 pm sharp.

The Board will review a process 5 tentative map waiver and CDP (Coastal Development Permit) to separate 2 lots, demolish the existing house and construct 2 new residences. The Project Review Committee voted 4 to 2 to approve the project. See these photos.

This is a CDP to construct a 2-story “granny flat” at 2077 Cable. The Project Review panel voted 4 to 0 to recommend its approval.

There’s also 3 agenda items coming out of the all-powerful transportation sub-committee. There’s a letter to request pedestrian improvements around OB Elementary. This stems from strong concerns of some parents who believe drivers speed down the streets close to the school, plus they claim many drivers fail to stop at the stop-signs.

Also there is some kind of recommendation coming from the power-packed subcommittee for “wayfinding and sharrow signage” – whatever those are – for the OB Pathways Project – whatever that is.  Thirdly, the agenda-driving sub-committee wants to liaison with the super-powerful Mission Bay Parks Committee in order to get some repairs  and improvements for the River Path Bike Trail. (Gio Ignolia is on that politician-creating Mission Bay Parks Committee – that’s where Kevin Faulconer came out of – and look at him now, probably the last Republican mayor of San Diego, and future gubernatorial candidate.)

Here’s the official agenda.
