Plastic pollution is causing severe damage to California’s environment and harming wildlife in the ocean, in rivers, and on our surrounding landscapes. Every day, single-use packaging and products in California generate tons of non-recyclable and non-compostable waste that often ends up in our environment.
SB54/AB1080 known as the California Circular Economy and Plastic Pollution Prevention Act is an unprecedented effort that would set goals to reduce waste from single-use packaging and products and ensure the remaining items are effectively reusable or recycled and composted.
Eliminating non-reusable, non-recyclable and non-compostable products and reducing packaging is by far the most effective, and least expensive way to protect the health of people, wildlife, and the environment.
