Widder’s Rant #40: California Wines Show Glyphosate Residue – You Know, That Stuff in RoundUp

in California

By Judi Curry

Last Thanksgiving one of my daughter’s was hospitalized for an unknown stomach problem.  As we tried to trace what caused the problem a very interesting development came to the forefront. But more about that in a moment.

A few nights ago that same daughter began experiencing the same stomach symptoms and that is where answers began to form. Because – in November and that eventful night last week it was determined that she had had a California wine both times.

Now that doesn’t sound so bad; California wines are well known throughout the world. But what isn’t known – and I didn’t know it until I did some research – that EVERY California wine that was tested – and some beers also, showed glyphosate residues.  Granted, not EVERY wine made in California was tested, but enough were tested to find this startling information.

In  February, 2019, a school groundskeeper’s terminal cancer was found to have been caused by the continual use of “Roundup”. He was awarded millions of dollars, a small price to pay for his life.  I am attaching a small segment of the research that I found for your information, but there is no question that my daughter’s severe reaction to the wine was caused by an “allergy” to ingesting the “Roundup” residue.

“USPIRG tested 20 products — five wines and 15 beers — and found traces of the carcinogen in 19 of them. The tested wines included Beringer, Barefoot and Sutter Home and the beers included Budweiser BUD, +0.87%, Coors TAP, +1.35%, Miller Lite, Sam Adams SAM, -0.68%, Samuel Smith Organic and New Belgium.

The highest levels of glyphosate were found in St. Helena, California-based Sutter Home wine ($5.99 per bottle), which contained 51 parts per billion, according to the report.”

There is an active group here in Ocean Beach, Non Toxic San Diego (CampaignNonToxicSan Diego@gmail.com)  led by Anne Jackson, fighting the spraying of glypyhosate at our local parks, beaches, etc.  I would suggest contacting her to see what more can be done regarding this horrific problem.

Our government, in their infinite wisdom, has refused to halt the production of this product.  Almost every other country has ceased using it, yet we, in America, and specifically California, are forced to breathe, smell, and ingest this known carcinogenic.

In the meantime, no one in my family will be drinking California wines. We may pay more for imported wines, but we will live longer.

I want to clarify something – We have not been told that my daughter’s problem was caused by the glyphosate in the wine that she had. But white wine was the only commonality of the two incidents. It has been suggested that she no longer drink white wine from California unless studies show it does not have the glyphosate residue.

Wish it were true that you could avoid it, but right now all wine and most food has some level of glyphosate in it. The French are planning on becoming glyphosate free:

Anne Jackson just informed me that there is a winery that advertises glyphosate free wines. Here is their email address: wine@laroccavineyards.com. Although only two reviews it is ranked “5” with best tasting wines. Tasting room in Chico; Forest Ranch where winery is located. La Rocca Vineyards
5.02 Google reviews
Wine bar
Address: 12360 Doe Mill Rd, Forest Ranch, CA 95942

The OB Rag facebook page is getting a lot of push-back on Judi’s stance regarding Glyphosate in wine; some call it “fake news” or “fake science”. So be it; sometimes Judi – you hit a homerun and other times you fly out; what can we say. But dear reader, when Judi does hit a homerun – like her stance on RoundUp and Glyphosate in general – we are proud to have her at bat.

Thank you Frank. When people are being awarded millions of dollars because of their illness – cancer – proven to be caused by Glyphosate and Round-Up in particular, it is hard to think that people would call this “fake news.”

Sorry about the cancer in your family but there have been no credible scuence that ties glyphosate to cancer including the court cases you mention. Expand your sources of information on the subject. This article is intellectually embarrassing.

I didn’t say anything about cancer in my family. You are entitled to your opinion. The research that I have is far more extensive than you give me credit for. Go ahead and drink the white wine; that is your prerogative. Your comments are giving license to people that might be subject to health problems for years to come. The court cases are enough evidence that people are getting cancer from these chemicals. So you use it; and I won’t by purchasing any of your wine either.

Since 2007, after extensively researching our chemically laced, government/corporate (industrial complex) controlled (collusion filled), deceptively labelled, pathetically convelluded, profeterring food system… I decide to go Organic.

One of the reasons for my extreme interest in going down this particular rabbit hole, as well as many others, is that I share an unique trait that involves only 4.4% of adult brains in America. I can’t help the fact that what interests me gets complete and total attention until my questions/curiosities are answered. Unlike most brains that readily accept the status quo. This is not to say that most people are stupid. Just ignorant of the facts, as most don’t have the interest, burning desire, and intrigue to dive deeply for the revelation of truth in most matters.

I’m certain that the young lady in question has been exposed to glyphosate many times, considering it’s EVERYWHERE in this terrarium we call earth. The reaction to the wine is, most likey, a double dose of toxic brew. Alcohol is poison to our human vessels. Add the most Prolific Toxin on Earth to the Bane of alcohol injested, you’re likely to have some sensitivity. Should she receive an award for a tummy ailment? I think we can all agree, that would be No.

Glyphosate is a cancer causing agent, that’s a fact. Any individual, group, or government across the globe who disagrees, is most likely, part of an intrecate web of Brotherhood, if you will, who have been in the business of control and deceit for Centuries. Through numerous factions, fractions, and off shoots of this intricate web, they maintain control over every aspect of our current lives. If not a “Good ‘Ol Boy”, and you think glyphosate is rather benign, I suggest you seriously contemplate your level of intelligence… DoiYoiYoioi’al! Or your level of intellectual embarrassment, that is (we of intelligence are embarrassed for you). Perhaps, you should pour yourself a nice glass of Roundup? Or take a swim in a pool, of the cess? Twould be my pleasure to throw you in.

For those of you thinking I’m simply a conspiracy theorist, please continue to go about your life and “do what you’re told”. You’re right where you’re “supposed to be” in our “Elite (mocking them) Society”… An arrogant, ignorant, in the dark, sheeple with perpetual congnitive dissonance, unable to discern the difference between what you’re told and the reality of most situations. In other words, Don’t be so “RandGnorant”!

Monsanto controlls our government with an iron fist. The number of former Congressional and/or House members that go to work for either Monsanto, or become lobbyists, is confounding. What type of sinister, symbiotic relationship is happening here? The Gates foundation is heavily invested in not only Monsanto, but Cargill, as well. This is old news. Please do some research to find out what is going on in other countries, and why they want the Gates foundation out! Corruption, control, experimentation with vaccines on unassuming little girls, whose parents haven’t an inkling! Subterfuge under the guise of philanthropy.

Case in point:. Monsanto Product drifts over to your farm, YOU OWE MONSANTO? When we all know, Monsanto OWES YOU!

Let’s get a little Q anan here: Why does Monsanto have a patent on aluminum resistant seeds? Why are most forums on this issue discontinued? What do they know that we do not? What are they spraying in our skies? What do they hide in the ingredients modified food starch, modified corn starch, and natural flavorings? Where are the ingredients derived from in vanilla flavoring? What is comprised of caramel color? Again, if you think I’m a crazy CT, please just place your head back in the sand, where it’s most likely been most of you uninformed life. DoYoYoY’al!

Why do we have chemical companies when we can derive Any Natural Medicine Needed from Mother Earth? Certain lettuce varieties can be used for Severe Pain… Without an addiction problem as a result! Our magnificent human vessels do not know what to do with Any Man Made Chemical. It turns those unnessary chemicals into Dis-ease. Cancer is a delicate virus that can be erradicated by Whole Organic Food! Fasting will start killing cancer, simply bc you’re taking away it’s various food sources. Your oncologist will recommend that you only have two drinks a day… Why? Sugar is the main ingredient for cancer food! Anyting GMO, cancer loves! Oncologists are the pathetic used car salesmen of the medical industry!

The reason our dear mother Earth is in such pathetic shape, is the fact that we’ve had this cartel (Brotherhood) of deception and control for centuries long. If they viewed Tesla as a resource, rather than an enemy (free energy for all? Where’s the PROFIT in that?), we would not be in this petroleum wasteland terrarium from H E L L… full of Glyphosate!

Goooooo ORGANIC!

Wow surprised to hear she is getting push back. Let me offer a supporting article from Mom’s Across America.
Moms Across America released a report in March from a supporter showing that 100% of the 12 CA wines tested were positive for glyphosate, including two organic brands, in order to raise awareness about the prevalence of toxic chemical use in grape growing. The widespread contamination of glyphosate herbicides has been recorded in tap water, irrigation water, rain, soil and many food and beverages nationwide and around the world. Studies have linked glyphosate based herbicides to non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, neurotoxicity, birth defects, breast cancer and liver and kidney damage. Vineyard owners from many regions became concerned about the widespread contamination and began testing. You can read the complete article here:

Hang in there Judi! I will toast to you with my imported wine this evening. Best – Anne

This whole subject drives me crazy. Without clean water, clean air, and safe food…. what does anything else matter! None of our politicians make this a priority! What the hell difference does anything else matter if we don’t have these three things. Just today’s headline spoke about the FDA being moved to Kansas City, MO and any employee who didn’t want to go would get a $25,000 severance package. So many people put in for the package deal the government reduced the severance to $10,000. The FDA was already decimated due to the trump administration. So fucking frustrating our leaders don’t care about the 3 things we need to survive! Fuck Round Up and whatever new name Bayer has given the poison and fuck everybody who sales it and purchases it!

I believe the author of the Forbes article is member of a group(s) partnered with Monsanto – “… Science Literacy Project, the parent group of Genetic Literacy Project, which works behind the scenes with Monsanto to promote and defend agrichemical products…”
“… The author is also a member of the board of scientific advisors of the American Council on Science and Health (ACSH), a group that receives funding from chemical, tobacco and pharmaceutical companies…”

This very minute we are working with the farmers worldwide. Also, the farmers bureaus, Municipalities as well. Our product, Symbiosis AGx, will take the chemicals out of the soil where you will no longer need them. once they’re out the nutrients come running back to the surface and help bring back the plant/crops nutrients and minerals and to its genetic potential. They hide deep in the soil when there is a fire flood or freeze and return after the elements are gone. But a chemical? Glyphosate stays in soil up to 22 years! Farmers spray their cropsEVERY OTHER WEEK WITH HERBICIDES AND PESTICIDES AND FUNGICIDES…they dont need them! Get rid of it, parks, yards, gardens, farms, cattle ranches, poultry farms, you name it. Did you know if your plants are healthy you will not get pasts because they can’t digest the nutrients? Bring back the nutrients you will see no more pests. No more pests means no more pesticides. It’s not rocket science. Dont wait, call me!

Diane,

Wow! Are you kidding? That sounds fantastic!
Where on Earth have you been hiding this? It sounds like the miracle that we’ve been waiting for!

The only problem for our current system of control would be the question: Where’s the harm in that? Yes, that’s correct!

Read up on “The Cremation of Care”. This will help to open your eyes to the Crazy Things I bring to this forum.

If you’ve ever wondered what we’re dealing with in current politics, please take a few minutes to listen the “The Speech that killed JFK”. What Kennedy communicates about every branch of our society… will blow your mind! It’ll be quite telling of what Trump has been up against from the moment he was elected. He talks about Fake News and the spider web of connectivity between all factions of our current lives… Only it’s 50 some odd years More Sophisticated!

If Monsanto can Control and Own your neat new product, that would be the only way they would ever consider it. It’s all about Control and Benjamin’s! Unfortunately, it sounds as though your product would be a cure-all for glyphosate in one treatment, therefore, it would not increase high-yield sales volumes every year. Take away our ridiculous sources of income? Thank you, no!

Heaven forbid the trace Glyphosate must be the cause of your daughter’s ailments! It’s the only possible explaination, right? Begin rant on an easy target already in distaste. Chemistry is to naturalists what race is to supremacists, right? It’s the cause of every problem with our food today, correct?

I’m with Eric B. on this topic. Trace exposure to Glyphosate is a phobia: an irrational fear that has no scientific basis. The people who have been effective at litigation against Bayer for their cancers have been those who have been heavily using the product, often without any precautionary safety gear, because they have been not given effective warnings, and it’s been sold to them by those that would herald it as a pancea herbicide. They’ve oft times been mixing it bare handed and fog spraying it in shorts and tees for many years. Their cumulative exposure is something in the millions to billions of times higher than the average population. It’s easier to draw the correlation and potential causation of Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma in those cases.

What this article doesn’t cover is that there are traces of the stuff in almost every foodstuff these days, even organically grown ones, so good luck avoiding it. Which is why the fact that overall cancer rates have not increased in any correlated way with it’s use vs non-use geographically is so interesting, and why it’s easy for the EPA to say it’s safe.

I’m not saying there is no cause for concern. It’s a decreasingly effective crutch of a product, and will be obsolete in so many decades due to increasing resistance among the weeds it’s intended to kill. It also adds no value to the end products except to make it more plentiful. It doesn’t help that it contaminates other food crops, which is bad if only because it’s unnecessary.

It’s good to report the findings of traces of the stuff in wine, because it shouldn’t be there, but to do it in such an inflamed and alarmist manner without studying the facts does greatly reduced the impact for those who know a thing or two about the topic. That puts it squarely in the fake-news bin.

A good reason to stick with whiskey? Fake news, real news whatever. The company that makes Round Up, used in all the parks in San Diego, has paid out billions-note, that is not a typo, I do mean BILLIONS-to those whose cancer and other debilitating diseases have been directly linked to Round Up. Glyphosate kills, bugs, weeds and unfortunately people, their kids and their dogs.

Dearest Eric,

Will you please put your money where your mouth is? Record yourself (for the Whole Wide World to see) drinking the benign, akin to Salt Water, Glyphosate solution of at least 50/50 G to Water, once a day for a month, at least, so you can educate “We the Fools” on How Safe Glyphosate is through ingestion. If you can’t muster the balls to do it… then STFU! PROVE IT, ERIC. WE’RE SO STUPID! SHOW US THAT YOU’RE NOT A P***Y, ERIC! Better yet, let’s have you and Mr. Doyle take that dip in the pool! It’s LESS TOXIC THAN SALT!

THE WORLD AWAITS YOUR REPLY, Mr. Lastnamenocansay… with bated breath, no less.

Reply

Eric Bjerregaard August 21, 2019 at 6:07 pm

Try baited breath. your drink it nonsense is juvenile bunk. It is not a beverage and has surfactants in it. thus would most likely taste bad and there is a reason your mom washed your mouth with soap. Apparently something she should have done more often.

Vern August 22, 2019 at 8:52 am

“… Lecithin is a surfactant (neutral in color & taste) .Lecithin’s surface-active property can be attributed to its chemical composition: a complex mixture of phospholipids, glycolipids, carbohydrates and triglycerides. As such, lecithin interacts well with other substances in foods, such as proteins, lipids and carbohydrates…”
So, the idea of a beverage (or food) product containing glyphosate for the sake of a month-long consumption test by glyphosate proponents isn’t necessarily nonsense.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, eh Eric? Go for it!
