The Project Review Committee of the OB Planning Board has two projects to review at its Wednesday, June 19, meeting. The volunteer panel meets at the OB Recreation Center, 4726 Santa Monica Ave., at 6 pm.

1776 Cable Street

The first project is a CDP (Coastal Development Permit) for additions and alterations to the one-story single-family residence and the detached garage at 1776 Cable.

The application is to add and alter the 916 square foot house into a two-story residence and to create a “granny flat” out of the garage. This project was initially to go before the Project Review Committee in February of this year, but for some reason that we are not aware of, did not and here it is back.

2068 Sunset Cliffs

The second project up for review is a CDP for a roof replacement and interior remodel to an existing single family dwelling unit at 2068 Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, which currently is 634 square feet. Apparently, the CDP was “triggered by field inspection.”

Both of these projects have already been taken down to the studs. The first house looks like it’s already been demolished.

2068 Sunset Cliffs was built in 1908 and has a 1951sq foot lot.

That made me wonder what the smallest house lot in OB. It looks like the winner is right down the street. 2060 SC is 630 sf house on a 1050sf lot.
