May 4 – Saturday Beach Clean Up, Veterans Park, 9am to 11am. Reusable bags, buckets, gloves and grabber available for those without their own supplies. May 9 Thursday – Hat Contest – OB Woman’s Club Annual Hat Contest & Fundraiser – Thursday, 6-9pm, at Culture Brewing Co. 4845 Newport Ave. – contestants have to show up with hats they made to win; prizes will be given for “Most OBcean”, “Most original” and “Most nostalgic”; voting for the winners ends at 8:30pm.
May 11th Saturday OB Green Center’s Grand Opening at our New location2 pm – 7 pm 4862 Voltaire Street in OB at Jim Bell’s place (Right across from our old location). Celebrating 30 years of Environmental, Peace & Social Justice Activism, we will have live music, yummy refreshments, raffle prizes and so much more.

This years Ocean Beach Historical Society special photographic event is a combination retrospective and multimedia event.
