in Ocean Beach

There has been concern expressed by our community members about the use of Round-Up pesticide by the City of San Diego.

Non Toxic San Diego will be offering an informative presentation about the use of these Chlorpyrifos pesticides at our next public meeting. Q and A to follow.

Please join the Ocean Beach Town Council, Wednesday, May 22nd 7:00pm at the Masonic Lodge-1711 Sunset Cliffs Blvd.

There will also be updates from our elected officials’ representatives and hear from our local Lifeguards and SDPD.

In the meantime, join the campaign for a non toxic San Diego.

The OBMA is and always has been a proxy group of the GOP. The OBMA has supported every republican candidate for mayor and district 2 council representation since it’s inception. To bring in the GOP ribbon cutting mayor ito re-open the pier is no surprise to this 35 year OB resident. Knox and Faulkner have long played this community of renters to their advantage. It was just last week we were reminded by the OB Rag that OB infrastructure gets failing grades. The city, its leadership and attention to infrastructure in our community is telling beyond the phony cutting ribbon ceremony for a pier that is slowly melting into the sea.

OB is getting no love when it comes to repairing beach access, lifeguard tower, etc.

Blame can be placed on the Mayor and his staff.

There will be press coverage (likely TV . . . the local press LOVE the pier).

Seems to me that this is an opportunity to get a little ol’ protest going to get the message out to the rest of the County without a whole lot of prep or trouble.
