Saturday, April 27th was both beautiful and disgusting at the same time. 183 volunteers removed 217 pounds of trash from OB parks, streets, alleys and beaches in 3 hours.
The event was part of a larger countywide cleanup sponsored by I Love a Clean San Diego known as Creek to Bay.
Surfrider Foundation and Ocean Beach’s Cleaner Streets Initiative (CSI-OB) registered volunteers and helped coordinate assignments in some of the most littered areas.
The most commonly found items were cigarette butts, making the total number of pounds removed even more disgusting.
