Friends of OB Library Call on Ocean Beach to Contact Mayor Re: No Funds for Library or Lifeguard Station and Attend Budget Hearing on May 1

Friends of the OB Library are pretty riled up. Mayor Faulconer did not include any funds for the Ocean Beach branch’s expansion. Nor did he include any funds for the OB Lifeguard station.

But it’s the lack of monies for the planned but decades-delayed expansion of the OB Library that’s most concerning – and insulting.

So, the guardians of our library have issued a call to their fellow OBceans: contact the Mayor’s office immediately about this and plan to attend city budget hearings – starting Wednesday, May 1st – down at City Hall.

OB Lifeguards are also asking OBceans to advocate for funds for the new lifeguard station promised Ocean Beach

The Friends are organizing a carpool to City Hall in the morning of the 1st.

Why exactly does the library need expanding?

ZZZ! Wake up! Its not the well documented (see above referenced) rationale for OB library expansion that needs questioning but rather the “decades-delayed” lack of funding that needs to be looked at.
