The Ocean Beach Town Council will host its monthly meeting Wednesday night, January 23 – and on deck (by our count, at least) will be the introduction of new candidates for the Board of Director’s open seats.

There will also be the usual agenda which includes reports from local leaders, political representatives, business, first responders and law enforcement officials.

The meeting goes from 7:00pm – 8:30pm at the Masonic Lodge, 1711 Sunset Cliffs Blvd, in Ocean Beach, 92107.

The annual election for the Ocean Beach Town Council Board of Directors will take place from Monday, January 28th to Friday, February 8th by its members.

This year, eight seats are up for election. There are 15 seats on the Ocean Beach Town Council Board of Directors. OBTC members elect Board Members for two-year terms. Half of the Board stands for election every year.

OBTC Directors are expected “to serve as an elected voice communicating the views and needs of the community to the appropriate agencies, be at the forefront of community discussions, take appropriate action on community issues and be a leader in promoting the general betterment of Ocean Beach.”

Here is the statement from the OBTC website:

The OB Town Council hosts public meetings on the 4th Wednesday every month except November and December. Members from all corners of the Ocean Beach community attend – and whether you’re a long-time OBcean or just want to learn more about OB, all are welcome!
