But, behind the scenes, undocumented immigrant workers face sub-legal wages, dangerous machinery, and abusive managers who will fire them for calling in sick. “The Hand That Feeds” is a 2015 documentary telling the story of twelve of these workers as they fight back, risking deportation and the loss of their livelihood, the workers team up with a diverse crew of innovative young organizers and take the unusual step of forming their own independent union, launching themselves on a journey that will test the limits of their resolve

An advocate of reforms that spread the benefits of economic growth, Mr. Reich co-founded Inequality Media, an online channel dedicated to raising awareness of economic inequality. Mr. Reich’s new book The Common Good explains the fundamental purpose of a fair and just society.
