A petition has begun to keep the OB Hardware store alive, despite its owner from stating he was closing the storefront after being in the business for 50 years.

It just went up and just a handful of people have signed it (as of this posting, 12:41pm 11/7/18). The petition states:

“I the undersigned hereby support the idea of keeping the Ocean Beach Hardware Store, a 100-year old business, alive and well in the community of Ocean Beach. If such a[sic] undertaking could be accomplished, I will make every effort to shop there and help keep this valuable neighborhood resource in our town.”

But from the last article on this, it seemed like the couple just wanted to retire! If someone wants to buy it and take over that’s one thing, but if they want to retire that’s their decision and and should be respected.
