The OB Town Council is making its annual call for candidates to its Board of Directors. Every year half of its 15-member Board stands for election, so there’s always opportunities for new people to apply to be candidates.
This time around, the week-long election by OBTC members won’t occur until late January and early February, but the Board is now accepting “Letters of Intent”. Plus the usual monthly public meeting of the Board will not be held in November and December (despite what the calendar on their website says!) as those are dark months and the OBTC is busy with holiday events.

The 2019 OBTC Board of Directors election is approaching and Letters of Intent are now being accepted.
If you would like to take your community involvement to the next level, here’s a great opportunity. By being an OBTC Director you can be an elected voice in communicating the views and needs of the community to the appropriate agencies, be at the forefront of community discussions, take appropriate action on community issues and be a leader in promoting the general betterment of Ocean Beach.
There are 15 seats on the Ocean Beach Town Council Board of Directors and OBTC members elect Board Directors for two year terms. Half of the Board stands for election every year. This year, 8 seats are up for election. If you would like to be considered for candidacy, please submit your Candidate Statement to info@obtowncouncil.org by Monday January 21st.
Eligible candidates for the OBTC Board of Directors must
- be over (18) years of age,
- already be a paid-in-full OBTC member, and
- either live, work, own property, or operate a business in Ocean Beach (92107).
Voting for this election will take place from Monday, January 28th to Friday, February 8th . The Ocean Beach Town Council is a community-based nonprofit 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to expressing the will of Ocean Beach residents and representing the welfare of the community.
