These parents and cute kids were out by the intersection light at Santa Monica Ave and Sunset Cliffs Blvd. on Friday, Nov. 3rd, urging motorists to stop at the red light there.

They were chanting “We are the Future of OB.”

I did not know there was a problem with people running the red light here. The entire reason there is a light there at all is because parents at OBElem protested for it and lobbied the city in the mid-seventies, I believe.

Today at 9:40 am: car turns left off of Santa Monica E bound ,to Sunset Cliffs N bound; as a mother with kids attempted to cross West bound!
I see this all the time; as a driver & Pedestrian.
We need enforcement of the law.
Self obsessed drivers are killing & maiming people everywhere!
Heads up pedestrians: don’t make it worse by randomly walking in front of cars that have the right of way. Be mindful: the life you save could be your own!
Happy walking: you don’t know who’s behind the wheel.

I live near this intersection and can confirm that the red light is blown all the time. Love the signs! In addition, I recommend OB Elementary run a message on the lighted sign at this very intersection for 1-2 weeks to get the word out.
