Local Peninsula schools are among the more than 70 campuses in the San Diego Unified School District that are operating on a minimum day schedule, today – Friday Sept. 1 – due to the continuing heat wave, district officials said.
Only campuses with air conditioning in less than 80 percent of their classrooms have been instructed to move to a minimum day schedule.
OB and Point Loma schools that affected include:
- Cabrillo Elementary
- Dana Elementary
- Ocean Beach Elementary
- Silvergate Elementary
- Sunset View Elementary
Superintendent Cindy Marten makes the decision to call a half-day in collaboration with district and school staff, according to the SDUSD.
