Have you had a cat from hell? Readers out there — I am guessing many of you have stories of trying to get your misbehaving cat to behave.
I recently met my friend’s cat who is a candidate to work with a real life cat whisperer (if such a thing really exists).
This is a hissing, biting, unfriendly, territorial cat. Consistent and repeat peeing and pooping throughout the house and on the furniture. Whenever and wherever he wants to in the house.
He is a rescue cat and was previously abused. So this has no doubt contributed to his current personality and behavior issues.
But no efforts of affection seem to work.
I am sure some readers out there have heard stories or had experiences with working on cat behavior. And I am sure there are some tricks you may have learned which may be helpful to share with others — please feel free to comment in the comments section below.
Did you change your cat’s diet and see improvements? Did essential oils help? Aromatherapy? “Special” treats? Prozac for cats? Did you take your cats on walks and see positive behavior improvements (this may seem strange but I have heard of such a thing being done)?
I am hearing a mix of possible remedies and various stories — and wonder what readers may have to chime in on this issue.

There definitely are things that may help. I’m not an expert but I have had cats all my life. And there actually is a “cat whisperer “, Jackson Galaxy. You can google him and he may have suggestions or refer you to someone local.
What I have used in the past for difficult kitties is a pheromone product called Felioway. You need to buy the refillable diffusers that plug into electric outlets, and the containers of liquid. I would confine the cat to one room for awhile with the diffuser to see if it works. For my cat with the worst behavior, I did need to resort to medications. Fluoxetine (Prozac) and amytriptline did the trick, and I was able to wean him off the meds after a few months.
