Major news organizations – including the Washington Post – have announced that President Donald Trump is now under investigation for possible obstruction of justice by special prosecution, Robert Mueller. The Post ran:
The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.
The Post included:
… Daniel Coats, the current director of national intelligence, Mike Rogers, head of the National Security Agency, and Rogers’s recently departed deputy, Richard Ledgett, agreed to be interviewed by Mueller’s investigators as early as this week.
Other mainstream media have confirmed this significant escalation of the investigations by Mueller. The earthquake of news would have been 5-inch headlines in papers across the country – except for the tragic shooting in Virginia.
But this is huge.
Apparently, this major uptick in the investigation into Flynn, efforts at Russian sabotage and White House collusion and now the obstruction-of-justice element by Trump himself came days after then-FBI Director Jim Comey was fired by Trump. Mueller – with his people now scheduling interviews with the top intelligence individuals – has now taken on this giant step.
The Post:
The interviews (with Rogers, Coats and Ledgett) suggest that Mueller sees the question of attempted obstruction of justice as more than just a ‘he said, he said’ dispute between the President and the fired FBI director, an official said.
Within the last few hours, Trump has confirmed that he is indeed under investigation for obstruction of justice. In a tweet – what else – made at 3:55 am, June 15th, Trump lashed out:
They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. Nice
About an hour later, Trump tweeted:
You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history – led by some very bad and conflicted people!

Remember, it took over two years to bring down Nixon, so this will probably cripple the Republicans for some time to come. When the F.B.I. is investigating they cover everything. I predict that it will come out that Trump was laundering money for Russian oligarchs through his real estate interests. He was buying properties and then selling them shortly afterward for two to three times what he paid for them. The follow the money aspect will make him look guilty to the public, and at that point impeachment will happen.
One of the reasons I posted this is because there was not one word about the president being investigated in Thursday’s LA Times.There was a sidebar frontpage article about it in the San Diego U-T. But again, today, Friday, June 16th, not one word in the LA Times – incredible.
