The Library Concert Series:  The Django Shredders present Gypsy Jazz.

Saturday, June 3rd from 2 – 3 pm.

Guitarists Alex Ciavarelli and Rudy Marquez met as undergraduates in the Jazz Studies program at San Diego State University. Combining traditional gypsy jazz with elements of modern jazz, they play with a youthful energy while harmonically keeping one foot in the past and one in the present. With influences such as Bireli Lagrene, Andreas Oberg, Stochelo Rosenberg, and of course Django Reinhardt, this contemporary take on Gypsy Jazz is sure to impress. See insert at end of this document.

Next Friends’ Meeting

Saturday, June 17th, 10:30 am at the Library Annex (4817 Santa Monica)

Friends Monthly meeting.  Come and hear the latest goings-on at the library. AND our oldest and fairest member, Alice Nodes, brings us COOKIES!!!

AND WE REALLY NEED HELP!!

We need a person to help with on-line book sales.

Selling our donated books on-line is proving to be very profitable for the Friends. We were able to sell some donated law textbooks for over $200. This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for a dedicated bibliophile to help our little OB Library. Please call Laura Dennison at 858-255-0053 or email at lauradennison@mac.com
