Ocean Beach – Clean, Green and Ready for Spring!

 Over 300 Volunteers Pitch in to Clean Ocean Beach 

Ocean Beach will be cleaned and enhanced by over 300 volunteers under the direction of I Love A Clean San Diego and funded by Councilmember Lorie Zapf.

The volunteers will go above and beyond picking up litter and debris.  They will paint bike racks, stencil storm drains reminding residents and visitors  that the storm drains go straight to the ocean.  They will also remove graffiti, clean litter receptacles and be armed with the City’s GET IT DONE APP to report anything the city needs to fix, like pot holes.

Additionally, the Urban Corps will be using environmentally friendly equipment to power wash areas of the famous Ocean Beach Boardwalk and business district.

 When:           Saturday, March 11, 20178:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Where:           Kick-off at Veteran’s Plaza at Newport Ave and Abbott Street, Ocean Beach, CA  92107

The clean-up event is being sponsored by the following organizations:

  • I Love A Clean San Diego
  • Urban Corps of San Diego County
  • Ocean Beach Town Council
  • Ocean Beach Mainstreet Association
  • Raglans Public House
  • City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department 

It is being funded by Councilmember Lorie Zapf, District 2 office. Over 300 volunteers who have registered for the event.
