The following calendar of events in OB and San Diego is from our good friends at the OB Green Center. February Events in OB

February 8th Wednesday, 6:30pm   San Diego Chapter of Native Plant Society Community Meeting The SD Chapter of CA Native Plant Society will hold a community meeting at OB Rec Center 4726 Santa Monica Ave, San Diego, CA 92107 to request community input on our native plant garden at the north end of Sunset Cliffs Natural Park. The meeting will be preceded by a social gathering from 6-6:30pm during which snacks and refreshments will be provided.

February 9th     Thursday     7:00 p.m.   Film Night  “Merchants of Doubt”
“Merchants of Doubt” takes audiences on a satirically comedic, yet illuminating ride into the heart of conjuring American spin. Filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the curtain on a secretive group of highly charismatic, silver- tongued pundits-for-hire who present themselves in the media as scientific authorities – yet have the contrary aim of spreading maximum confusion about well-studied public threats ranging from toxic chemicals to pharmaceuticals to climate change.  Free of Charge  :-)

February 16th    Thursday   7pm  OB Historical Society Presents:  Point Loma Book
by Eric Duvall, Kitty McDaniels and authors from Lay Playa Trail Association at P.L. United Methodist Church, 1984 Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Point Loma is one of San Diego’s most historic neighborhoods. The newly released book by Arcadia Publishing is packed full of lovely historical photos and information about our spectacular peninsula community.

February 16th  Thursday   5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Ocean Beach Elementary Family Dining Night at Raglan Public House  1851 Bacon St, 92107.  Help support Ocean Beach Elementary and help fund a vertical aeroponic growing system at the school.  Workshop on growing vertically in small spaces, planting activities for kids, food and drink specials, raffle prizes.

February 22nd  Wednesday   7:00 – 8:30 pm  Ocean Beach Town Council Monthly Meeting – The OB Town Council hosts public meetings on the 4th Wednesday every month except November and December. Regular speakers include local leaders, political, business and SDPD law enforcement representatives, as well as members from all corners of the Ocean Beach community.
