It’s been nearly two years since the disappearance of Elizabeth Sullivan, a young Navy wife from Point Loma. There was quite an extensive search for her by both authorities and family.
The search came to a final and tragic end on October 6th this year, when her body was found in Bay waters off the 2600 block of Farragut Road. Police announced today – Dec. 7th – that her identity has been confirmed. Police have re-opened their investigation of Sullivan.

A woman from Point Loma has now been missing for one week. Elizabeth Sullivan, a mother of two young daughters whose husband is in the Navy, was last seen on October 13th at her Point Loma home near Liberty Station. Police have reported that Sullivan’s car is in the garage.
Understandably, family and friends are extremely worried for her safety. Sullivan has family in Virginia.
Sullivan’s last contact reportedly was with a friend Nathan Caracter, a text message on the 13th, and her phone has been off ever since. Caracter spoke to the press and told them he had contact with Sullivan on Sunday night – that’s the 12th. He said:
“We left it at ‘talk to you tomorrow’ … didn’t hear from her again.”
Sullivan and husband Matthew, according to Caracter, have been having marital problems. He is the one who contacted police and filed a missing persons report.
Sullivan’s father in Virginia told local media:
“I texted her several messages and she didn’t respond, and I haven’t heard anything since then.”
Her dad, Tony Ricks, told Channel 10 that they talk up to 2 to 3 times a day. He is the one who had last contact with her on Monday – and they had a disagreement, Ricks said. Sullivan is 31. It is also reported that Matthew, Sullivan’s husband, has been notified of her disappearance and has been in contact with police and her family.
Sullivan is African-American, 5 foot 3 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has dark hair and brown eyes. Police said it is not known what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance. News source: 10News

About a month after her disappearance, Sullivan’s husband gave an interview with People magazine in which he said the couple had been having marital difficulties and that she had sometimes stayed out, but was never gone longer than overnight.
In addition to the ongoing police search, Sullivan’s family members had hired a private detective, distributed missing person fliers and set up social media pages dedicated to the search efforts. A GoFundMe.com account was also set up to help fund the efforts and raise money for a reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
Family members later said in an update on the fundraising site that all local hospitals, morgues, jails, homeless and women’s shelters have been checked several times and that her information had been added to a national law enforcement database.
Law enforcement officials said Dec. 7 that the case is still ongoing and that no persons of interest have yet been identified. San Diego Patch

From an outsiders perspective, Matt Sullivan’s behavior is so strange. Moving new gf into family home shortly after disappearance. Posting pics on gf fb page..just 5 months following her disappearance he looks rather happy with his new lady for a mourning husband!! Very strange. Seems disrespectful to have a strange new woman living in his home he shared with Elizabeth, watching his children who surely are confused and scared about where their mommy may be.

Go check out the pics for yourself. Many pics of Elizabeth’s ex Matt posing as a family with his girls and the new girlfriend. The first “family” pic is not even a year after she disappeared. Not suggesting he did anything himself, but it certainly seems very odd.
Also wanted to note that the article makes it seem as though Matt Sullivan and family had a go fund me page set up. This seems to be inaccurate. Elizabeth’s family set up the gofundme acct to help find her while it appears Matt was off finding a new girlfriend (sarcasm). There is also another fb page titled “Remembering Elizabeth Sullivan” that recently states Matt has cut off all ties with Elizabeth’s family.
I also find it extremely interesting that her body randomly turns up just days after Matt and his new lady moved from point loma to another state. Could be a coincidence…but..idk.
Forgot to add. Her body was found blocks from her home she shared with matt and in the same location he reported her missing. Another strange fact.
