Thanks for the tip. I went over and just caught the crew as they were leaving. Someone called about the broken limb so they came and took the end off. The limb was actually broken and could have fallen on someone so it was a legitimate concern, and I was glad to see that they only removed it at the broken point, rather than whacking the limb back further to the trunk, so the majority of the limb remains and still spreads out over the street.
I asked if they would be doing any more work on the tree and they said no.
