My first meeting of the planning board. Do they often resort to their most objectionable tool so quickly? Do they regularly throw out journalists? Democracy, in its reality, took a bit of a beating tonight and a community meeting, run with firm hands, lost its sense of community.
I am not sure about the cameras. In five years of caring for the cliffs from Newport to the SC Coves (along with several other people) I have seen more crime and have been confronted by aggressive youths more than any other time in my old guy life. Because I have lived in some sketchy places, I tend to dish crap back and carry on. In addition, I am concerned the cameras will force more travelers further south along the cliffs, adding to the issues we have in that stretch of beauty. The poop, trash, butts and damage to the sand stone is already a huge problem.
Re: SDPD, they have responded to every call or direct contact I have made concerning travelers setting up household in the coves. I am a, very impressed, not a cop guy, guy. Does that make sense?

That is a good point that people that might not want to be under cameras will move south. I know that when they put the alcohol ban in place at the beaches a lot of that element moved south.
