Some folks – OBceans and the like – like to celebrate the holidays by dressing up like Santa and carousing from restaurant to bar to bar – and this year SantaCon returns to Ocean Beach on Friday, December 18th. Here is DiscoverSD.com:

SantaCon San Diego returns to Ocean Beach

The annual Santa-clad celebration will bring Ocean Beach good cheer on Friday, Dec. 18

Get into the holiday spirit at SantaCon San Diego by dressing like Santa alongside a bunch of fellow Santa-impersonators as you take to the streets to spread holiday cheer.

The event will start at Pizza Port Ocean Beach at 1 p.m. with a few prerequisites for those who want to join in on the fun. First of all, you must wear a full-Santa outfit. Yes, it is mandatory. None of that easy and lame “just a Santa hat” stuff will work for this event; go all-out or don’t go at all.

The list of destinations is still to be determined, but will include some of the top bars and restaurants around Ocean Beach. Attendees are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items to donate.

SantaCon is an annual community get-together to celebrate the season and enjoy some drinks and eats around town. Keep it safe and smart throughout the evening.

Attendance to SantaCon San Diego is free. For more information, visit santacon.info.

Pizza Port Ocean Beach, 1956 Bacon St., Ocean Beach.
