Monday evening, a man’s body was found on the rocks at the foot of Orchard Avenue in Ocean Beach.

The body has been identified as missing swimmer Brian Wilson, the medical examiner’s office said, as reported by abc10.

The body was recovered Monday night by search and rescue officials from the rocks. Lt. Andy Lerum of San Diego Lifeguards told the media:

They observed an object kind of wedged in some rock areas. The low tide had exposed part of the body. We responded and confirmed the body.”

Brian Wilson  had been missing since he went swimming on Sunday.

The search that had begun for Wilson late on Sunday, had been continued at dawn on Monday. Wilson was last seen swimming south of the OB Pier around 5:30 pm on Sunday.

NBC7 reported that “a lifeguard on a jet ski found the body at almost the exact spot where Wilson was last seen swimming. The man was discovered during low tide.”

It’s very probably that of Wilson, but the medical examiner needs to perform an autopsy before it can be confirmed.

Friends said he was a strong swimmer who came to the area everyday. Those who knew him were very distraught on Monday. He was from Lakeside and had attended El Capitan High School. And he was the father of a 7-month-old girl.
