OB Orchard leak June015 jk 01Some residents in southern Ocean Beach are incensed.

They noticed a continuing leak somewhere in the vicinity of Orchard and Froude, which forms pools in the roadway.

So, respectful of the drought and the need to fix this, they called the City’s 24 hour Leak hotline and reported it.  That was on Thursday, May 28th.   They even got a work order – Work Order # SR 3675673.

OB Orchard leak June015 jk 02But, as of today June 4th, it has not been repaired.

The City’s response it should be repaired with a week…

This is not right!  We thought we were supposed to be saving water – like, 25%. C’mon, city – how can the residents take the drought seriously, if government doesn’t?

Here is the 24 hour Leak hotline – open 24 hours  – 619 515 3525.

If there’s that much seeping up through the street, there has to be LOTS underground. This better not be the “Before” photo for when the sinkhole happens…
There’s another smaller one started up on Del Mar.
With all the work they finally completed this past year…. maybe they used cheaper crappy pipes?
Thanks for posting this!

I called them about the one at the top of Talbot street as soon as it happened. It took them 4 days to come out and fix it. And now there is a horrible bump in the road.

I find it very frustrating to be told by our city and state to save water, but then weekly you hear about broken pipes and water main breaks.

thanks for the phone#- I often seen leaks when walking in neighborhood w/poodle, so added the # to the cell phone.
