Saturday, June 6th, was a busy day in OB.
Greg Crowley – head of CSI-OB.
First there was the community clean-up, organized by CSI-OB (Cleaner Streets Initiative). Volunteers emerged and filled lots of bags with trash.
Greg Crowley, one of the co-heads of CSI-OB, was on hand lending both his hands and feet too.
Then, the First Responders’ Picnic was held in the Veterans’ Park area.
Sponsored by the OB Town Council, it was a total success, reports our OB Rag reporter, South OB Girl, who told us that the fire fighters, police, and lifeguards truly enjoyed the copious spread by the beach.
Local restaurants donated all of the food. It was a smorgasbord and included sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, ribs and sushi, enchiladas, pizza, lumpia, meatballs, cookies and chocolates, and more!! There was so much food our reporter couldn’t put all of the options on her plate.
Donations came from Shades, Wonderland, Natis, Pizza Port, the Joint, Beach Sweets, and many other local businesses.

Thanks for reporting on this, but some errors need correcting. It’s CLEANER, not CLEAN Streets Initiative for CSI-OB. That’s important because our motto is, “We’re not talking spotless, just a little bit cleaner.
Next, Greg does most of the work for sure, but CSI is headed by BOTH of us, thank you.
And the girl on the right in the pic above is Rebecca Taylor. Not sure of the other girl or if her name is correct either.
