One-Paseo-Slider-2.jpgIn a letter to Councilwoman Lori Zapf, the OB Planning Board blasted  her for her vote to approve the controversial project One Paseo slated for Carmel Valley.  In the letter approved at the Board’s recent April 1st meeting, the Board expressed that it is “extremely disappointed” by her vote.

The letter – dated April 1 – also cites that a number of local planning groups voted to deny the project – a project that was approved by a majority of the Council, and that it “does not meet the requirement of City and local community plans.”

It continues by asserting that the OB community “has been damaged by City willingness to approve projects that are contrary to Municipal Code and our Community Plan”.

The open letter ends by saying the Board appreciates Zapf’s support for the OB Plan, but warns “we are concerned about your continued support in the face of attempts by developers to build projects that are not in concert with the community.”

It was signed by Board Secretary Peter Ruscitti – the former Chair. Here is the letter in full:

April 1, 2015

The Honorable Lorie Zapf
City Council of San Diego
202 “C” Street, 10th Floor
San Diego CA 92101

Re: City Council Approval of the One Paseo Project in Carmel Valley

Councilmember Zapf:

The Ocean Beach Planning Board is extremely disappointed by your vote to approve the One Paseo project in Carmel Valley.

Several local planning groups voted to deny the project, which required several variances. It does not meet the requirement of City and Local Community Plans.

Our Ocean Beach community has been damaged by City willingness to approve projects that are contrary to Municipal Code and our Community Plan. While we appreciate your support of our updated Community Plan, we are concerned about your continued support in the face of attempts by developers to build projects that are not in concert with the community.

Sincerely,
Peter Ruscitti, Secretary
By Direction of the Ocean Beach Planning Board

Why are you all complaining ?
After all, She got voted in by a majority so you must have known exactly how she is. I did.
So you got what you voted for, ugh .

Nice letter Mr. Ruscitti. Thank you. And like the previous comments said, not a surprise that she voted that way.

District 2 has 78,166 registered voters. Daft Zapf got 10,146 votes. Some majority.
