The much anticipated final review of the Ocean Beach Community Plan by the California Coastal Commission has been on the minds of OB planners and OBceans for months now.

Now it is known that the Commission is scheduled to meet in San Diego on March 11 to 13. It is speculation, but it is likely that is when the last stop for the OB Plan will be.  Their agenda for that meeting has not be made public.

Even since the City Council unanimously approved the Community Plan Update in late July last summer, in the face of opposition by the San Diego Planning Commission, Ocean Beach has expected the Plan to go before the Coastal Commission this January.  But this is not to be and OB is not on their January agenda.  The Commissioners meet every month, and their next one is in February up in Pismo.

Once it is confirmed that the OB Plan is on the March agenda, then expect to turn out and show support for the Plan at the Commission hearings. Notices of where and when will certainly be made in time.

Privately, OB planners have not anticipated any problems at the Commission level, as their staff sent the City Planning Department a list of recommendations, improvements and issues. The two respective staffs from the city and the Commission have had ample time to resolve all of them, hopefully.
