Good to see the rag standing in solidarity with your journalist brethren. But why not post the offending cartoons and really make a statement?
I don’t disagree with your request but there are no “offending” cartoons and it is just another excuse for the factionalized, radicalized zealots to utilize religion as an excuse to be violent to those they perceive as “wrong, different, or unworthy” and how can one offend a mythical being like god or allah (etc.) anyway. Crackpots are alive and well and dwelling amongst us all the time. Delusion and absolute certain “belief” is the fuel needed and promulgated by the tyrants dressed in peaceful sheep’s clothing spewing their hateful blather to the masses that has for millennia lead those, who sucumb, down the wrong paths.
Ok, I’ll be the one to ask. Can someone explain that cartoon to me? “I am Charlie.” What does that mean?
Geoff – see this article from the Washington Post http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/what-it-means-to-stand-with-charlie-hebdo/2015/01/08/ab416214-96e8-11e4-aabd-d0b93ff613d5_story.html
Frank, why not publish the cartoons yourself?
If anyone wants to see the cartoons a quick Google search will do it. They’re all over the interwebz(s).
