Do Not Allow Your Kids to See These Photos!
OB gets into Halloween. Obviously, no longer just a kid’s thing – the front porches and yards of OB residences prove that all kinds of people – get into it.
We set out with camera in hand to capture just how much Ocean Beach is into this un-holiday holiday.
We saw many graveyards, ghosts, spiders, pumpkins of course, and webs. Even a shark!
(hey, just a hint: you can’t just grab last years Christmas angelhair and spread it out for spiders’ webs – ya gotta do more if anything)
We found some wonderful, ghoulish displays – and hey, we couldn’t get everyone’s and we couldn’t get all the best – but we did find some of the best. (If you think yours or a neighbor’s yard deserved mention, send us a pic via obragblog@gmail.com )
So follow us along – and really, the folks on Brighton deserve a hearty round of Halloween applause, as in total, that street had some of the best.
Just before the alley on the last block of Brighton, we also found Tiki Port Bob next to his pirate of yesteryear. Wow!
Here is some detail – check out the upstairs window:
Eyes up!
Then, near the end of Brighton Ave., we found a motherlode of frightening monsters, skeletons and pirates – in an alcove off the alley. Unbelievable!
Much like some neighborhoods of upscale Point Loma really get into Christmas displays, here – the folks of lower Brighton really get into their own displays. Ecck! Pity the poor kids who happen upon this alley. Here are some details:
Freak out – somewhere more sedate …. ah …
Whamp! Those low-flying witches do have hazards.
Not sure what that – above is …
So many new old gravestones in OB ….
This web near OB Elementary is truly frightening!
This yard goes with the giant web …
Skull heads lining the sidewalk. .… the only scarecrow we could find …
This corner house has them from two directions …
Wouldn’t want to be trapped in this yard …
In southern OB, we found a 3 story residence whose inhabitants got into their displays – even on the top floor.
