Gluten intolerance is a hot issue these days. Research estimates that over 18 million Americans now have a gluten sensitivity. These new gluten sensitivities are likely due to genetic alteration of crops, and while there is no GMO-wheat, per se, GMOs and modern wheat are killing us.

Wheat’s mass production turned into toxic junk food, and now the combination of the two is causing headaches, stomach ulcers, prostate cancer, IBS, bladder and pancreatic cancers, and all sorts of digestive issues for a huge portion of the population.Celiac disease is on the rise too – also caused by eating the proteins in GMO gluten. It used to be a rare disease, and now its popping up all over the place:

“Celiac disease was rare, but it’s now more common in all age groups,” says Joseph Murray, M.D., a Mayo gastroenterologist. Although the cause is unknown, celiac disease affects about one in 100 people. What’s more, the Mayo Clinic has found a fourfold higher death risk for people with undiagnosed gluten intolerance.

You’re eating pesticides, junk-wheat, and altered DNA! That’s the simple answer, but the more involved explanation is that Monsanto, Bayer and Syngenta have utterly changed the wheat we grow in America. We aren’t eating the wheat our grandparents or ancestors ate. While other countries ban GMOs, we are shoveling the stuff down our gullets with abandon. The cause isn’t ‘unknown’ though, as many mainstream media outlets will purport; it is linked to GMOs and altered wheat.

Here’s why:

Because of the industrial revolution and the way wheat has been processed and milled, most of us eat ‘wheat flour’ that is devoid of nutrients, and the peptides our bodies are used to.

The truth is that normal gluten is a protein made up of the peptides gliadin and glutenin. It is found in many grains such as wheat, semolina, spelt, kamut, rye, and barley. Our bodies used to know how to digest those proteins because they were made by nature – not mad scientists and greedy corporations. It’s estimated that 5% of the proteins found in hybridized wheat are new proteins that were not found in either of the original wheat plants. These “new proteins” are part of the problem that has led to increased systemic inflammation, widespread gluten intolerance, and higher rates of celiac.

The Risks of GMOs

While there are still biotech shills crowding out chat rooms, and posting on blogs, telling everyone that GMOs are safe, this is the furthest thing from correct:

GMOs are toxic – A Canadian research team studied the blood of 30 non-pregnant women and pointed out how susceptible the fetus would be if they were born to these women. They also measured the toxicity levels of 38 pregnant women and published the results in the journal Reproductive Toxicology. The study showed clearly that Bt toxins from GMO crops were infesting women with toxicity levels that were unsafe for them and their unborn children. This study is a baseline for future tests, and was called “a “cornerstone in the advancement of research in this area.” Of course there is plenty of more research to reference.

We aren’t just ‘intolerant’ to GMO wheat; our bodies are rejecting it hands-down – The US Department of Agriculture, the EPA, and Responsible Technology (IRT) says that it isn’t GMO wheat, but other GMO crops which are causing the problem. At least we can agree 18 million people are suffering due to GMOs. There’s a video where they admit that removing gluten from the diet treats a host of different diseases.

GMOs and altered crops are causing our guts to leak, allergic responses, and impaired digestion – We aren’t all suffering from ‘auto-immune disorder.’ Our guts – the very basis for much of our immunity- are being hit by biotech. It’s a full on war against one of the most basic components of our health.

GMO corn is causing rat tumors – and we’re next – The longest running test on GMOs thus far links Monsanto’s RoundUp Ready corn to ‘acute’ and ‘chronic’ affects in rats. “Results show“ severe adverse health effects, including mammary tumors and kidney and liver damage, leading to premature death.”

It isn’t a ‘gluten’ intolerance we are developing. It is a GMO, processed food intolerance. We simply aren’t eating real food anymore.

” It’s estimated that 5% of the proteins found in hybridized wheat are new proteins that were not found in either of the original wheat plants.”

Where is your citation for that? What original wheat plants? Have you seen them?

There is no gmo wheat on the market. Organic farmers may use Bt pesticides. Snopes covers the withdrawn rat tumors.” Leaky gut is a “proposed” disorder. Dihydrogen monoxide is toxic in large doses.

The problem isn’t that it’s GMO technology, that’s just an improved version of the same hybridization and artificial selection we’ve been using since before recorded history.

The problem is what the GMO technology has been used to do.

The main use of the GMO technology has been to mutate the plants to produce an enzyme that prevents them from attempting to metabolize glyphosate. This has 2 impacts to the consumer; first, the produce is now contaminated with glyphosate, which is toxic, and second, the produce includes the enzymes which interfere with glycogen metabolism in the body (because glycogen is chemically related to glyphosate).

A secondary use of GMO technology has been to mutate the plants to produce toxins that kill insects. These toxins, CryA and CryB, have also been shown to be cytotoxic to humans.

Finally, neither of these mutations provides any advantage after the second generation, because the weeds and pests develop immunities. We, however, do not.

Aging hippy, the median lethal dose (ld50) of glycophosphate is 5600 mg/kg. The ld50 of table salt is 3k mg/kg. The ld50 of caffeine is 192 mg/kg. Granted nobody takes pure caffeine, but it shows how glycophosphate is fat less toxic than foods americans eat every day. The state of ca does not list glycophosphate as toxic, but starbucks and other coffee shops need to put up a prop 65 warning because the state of ca considers components in coffee to be toxic. Don’t worry though, it would be almost impossible to consume enough coffee to kill you.

Your second paragraph I assume refers to Bt pesticide bacillus thuringiensis, which occurs “naturally” and is permitted for use as a pesticide on certified organic produce. While Bt is toxic to insects, it is considered completely non toxic to mammals. Think of it like chocolate being very bad for dogs, but okay for humans.

For instant lethality maybe, if you have the right chemical – glycophosphate and glyphosate are not the same. What’s the median dose to cause liver damage over 10 years? Don’t know? Neither does anybody else.

It doesn’t really matter what organism the CryA and CryB toxin producing genes came from. At least if they’re sprayed on, you can wash them off. Considered nontoxic? By whom, the FDA that is owned by big ag, or the USDA that is owned by big ag? They’ve been independently tested and proven cytotoxic to human cells.

Roundup has been used for over 20 years, trillions of meals have been served. it is one of the most exhaustively tested substances in earth. It tends to be sprayed long before harvest and breaks down quickly into generally harmless substances withi days in soil. Organic approved pesticides like copper sulfate and rotenine are recognized be much more toxic but the risks can be mitigated through proper application so I am not saying anyone should freak out over the toxic pesticides organic farmers get to use. Only fringe pseudoscience sites allege that Bt is dangerous to humans, but i grant those sites are really popular these days.

the most dangerous substances in food are fecal contaminants from manure fertilizer. Hundreds of people have gotten sick or died from organic food contaminated with listeria, ecoli, salmonella or hepatitia in recent years. Don’t take my word for it, check the whole foods recall list online.

Bt is considered nontoxic humans by pretty much everybody, including the organic industry and the state of ca.

Asbestos was used for a long time and considered safe also.

Monsanto and Dupont have done a very good job of bribing regulators and researchers and suppressing negative information; of course owning a Supreme Court justice doesn’t hurt in that regard.

Fear mongers have been hyping alleged dangers of Bt and glycophosphate for decades. They overcome the challenge of the lack of facts to justify their allegations with effective marketing. Big organic is a $35 billion industry that depends on this fear to justify their high prices. Ironically the organic industry is resisting fda efforts to get them to test their crops for fecal contamination, while demanding more tests for their competion typical big business tactics.

If you don’t have facts, move the goal posts, bring up a tangential topic and allege a conspiracy theory.

Peer reviewed research showing that glyphosate, GMO-introduced enzymes that immunize plants against it, and insecticidal toxins produced by GMO-introduced alleles are all dangerous to humans and livestock:

While admitting that “there is no GMO-wheat, per se, ” the author still claims that, “We aren’t just ‘intolerant’ to GMO wheat; our bodies are rejecting it hands-down – “
