Angela Marie Sahyoun, Feb. 14, 1978 – Dec. 1, 2013.

OBcean Angela Marie Sahyoun lost her battle against breast cancer on December 1st.  She was 35 and had been living in OB for the last 10 years.  She has been described as a “strong and beautiful woman”.

Angela was born in Stockton, California in 1978, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1995. She obtained a degree in Humanities from San Diego State University, and had been working on a teaching credential in multiple subjects from National University.

She had been a student attendant at Friendship School in Imperial Beach for the past 3 years. She was curatorial director at Figment in San Diego in 2012. Angela was the founder, director, and curator of Arte Fresca events. She was also a writer/journalist at The  UpChuck.

Her father John, her mother Jean, her brother and several aunts,  uncles, and cousins survive her  locally. In Ocean Beach, her  survivors include her roommate Jason Acton, her pets Samson and Britney, and countless friends, co-workers and students. A  celebration of life was held there on Dec. 14, 2013.

Those who knew her and loved her are invited to a celebration of her life at Grace United Methodist Church at 1625 N. Lincoln St. at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 21, 2013. Wear something pink.
