I have written several articles about the deplorable conditions at Ft. Rosecrans. See here, here, and here.
Michael Turko of KUSI News did a story a week or so ago and I sent him the articles that I wrote. One of the real discrepancies in his report and mine was that he was told the problem began occurring in November of 2012. My first article was written in August, 2012 and it was already a problem.
Turko asked me to meet him at the cemetery today [Wednesday] so we could go over some of the things that I noticed last year and compared them with the even worse conditions this year.
Rather than second-guess what his story will entail, I want to alert you to the program airing Thursday Night – June 27 – at 10:00pm on KUSI – Channel 9 on Cox; Channel 51 on Direct TV.

Go, Judi, GO! You’ve proven the problem began before the VA admits they even had a problem. How long does it take to fix a sprinkler system? Or should it be, how long does it take the feds to fix a sprinkler system!
Hearsay today – and I love this one! A neighbor dropped by to tell me that she was told by technicians that the new sprinkler system FAILED – and that is why the grass is so brown on the other side of the cemetery. It failed? Are they going to fix it? And further more – she was told they would be bringing in water trucks to keep the grass green. How many water trucks would it take to green the grass? Kind of like – “how many chucks would a wood chuck….”

I was there last Thursday, June 20th, at 3 pm. There were sprinklers watering the grass. It was on the west side, near the southern end. The water stunk like sewage water. You might look into if they are using reclaimed water from somewhere to water. It really smelled bad. As a public place, where people walk and sit down, it would be nice to know if it’s safe to do so.
