A 25 year old woman was ambushed while walking in the 1600 block of Ocean Front alley shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the 17th of October. She was hit on the head, told to be quiet, and then groped.  The man ran off. There is some new info – the assailant apparently was frightened off by the sudden appearance of a Cox Cable truck.

Lt. Stone provided additional facts, stating the assailant was, in fact, scared away when a Cox Communications vehicle arrived on the scene during the attack. No solid descriptions were provided, and the young woman only saw her attacker from behind.

In hopes our readers may recall the incident and be able to assist in the investigation, the assailant was described as muscular build, and approximately 5 feet, 5 inches. At the time he was wearing plaid shorts and a green-and-white basketball jersey. The assailant ambushed the woman from behind, striking her on the head. He then said he would not hurt her if she remained quiet. The attacker grabbed her breast and ran away when the vehicle approached.
