Have you folks considered how Prop 29 might affect the price of a pack of dubes when marijuana gets legalized? Do you really want to jump out of the starting gates at nearly two dollars per pack?

…nearly two dollars in taxes per pack.

I’m happy, though not surprised that you endorse Filner for mayor – from my personal experiences of interacting with Filner in the local community, he’s got a great heart and a lot of skillful leadership.
Earlier this year, Congressman Bob Filner attended the inaugural conference entitled, Bridging the Hearts and Minds of Youth, hosted by the UCSD Center for Mindfulness. The first day of the conference, I overheard a few people say, “A Congressman, he’s not going to show up – they never follow through with things like this.” Not only did Filner show up and offer some encouraging words before a keynote speaker, he also attended several sessions about the neuroscientific research which has documented benefits of mindfulness training for teenagers, and the role of mindfulness in enhancing leadership and creativity in educational settings. It was heartening to see a political and community leader recognize the growing research showing that social-emotional intelligence plays a significant role in the academic and life successes of youth. Filner later spoke about his personal experience of using mindfulness practice to increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and generate insights into his work as a public servant. I hope that more of our political leaders will also make the changes in themselves that they are working to create in our communities and country.

Rudy- the OBRag writers were unable to research and write about all of the candidates and propositions. We owe you, our reader, that kind of thoughtful coverage. We decided to limit ourselves to those candidates and issues that had received coverage on the OBRag. Thanks for checking in with us, and I hope that our future election coverage will be more comprehensive. Please feel free to leave your comments about the issues surrounding the county supervisor race for the 2nd district.

hi my name is rudy reyes; i was the worst injured in the 2003 cedar fies and am currently running for 2’nd seat on the county board of supervisors. The main reason I am running is to provide fire protection for my county, current county board is inept in providing. Dianne Jacobs in my opion is a current day nero who twittled her thumbs as the county burned and was responsible for ‘evacute everyone and let it burn’ 20 years in same seat! 3 of worlds worst fries! Vote for safety, Vote reyes for 2nd dist county supervisor. I would like to ask for your endosment for my campiagn for county supervisor? http://www.reyesforsupervisor.com
