Ann Wright Ann Wright was was one of three diplomats who tendered her resignation on the eve of the Iraq war in protest. Since then, she has become an international speaker on matters of war and peace and rape and assault in the military.
She is coming back to San Diego to speak on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and HR 347. There will be snacks, beer, wine and a Q & A after her talk.

Ann Wright is a retired United States Army colonel and official of the U.S. State Department, known for her outspoken opposition to the Iraq War. She received the State Department Award for Heroism in 1997, after helping to evacuate several thousand people during the civil war in Sierra Leone. She is most noted for having been one of three State Department officials to publicly resign in direct protest of the March 2003 invasion of Iraq. Since that time the Colonel has become an international star in the PEACE AND JUSTICE COMMUNITY.
She has led the way to opening discussions on sexual assault in the military. She has become an inspiration to many women who have faced rape, assault and degradation at the hands of fellow soldiers. It has only been since her relentless pursuit of answers and accountability that the military has acknowledged and begun to make some changes. She has become a recognized voice of sanity in this country. There is no venue to small or too rural. Her talks are always informative and uplifting. Please join us.

Parking: Seeing as how this is a business park area and it pretty much clears out in the evening and on weekends, there is ample parking on the street or in the parking lot of the strip mall next door. Please leave the parking spaces of adjacent to the building unless you’re handicapped or have much to unload.

From the South (coastal)
* Go north on the I-5 to the Sorrento Valley Rd. exit.
* Take a left at the stop sign at the bottom of the off-ramp onto Roselle St.
* Stay to the left and go straight past stop sign at Sorrento Valley Blvd.
* Get over to the right to avoid freeway on-ramp.
* 2-story bldg. on your left, just past the strip mall.
From the North (coastal)
* Get on I-5 south and take the I-805 at the split just south of Del Mar.
* Take the 1st exit, which is Mira Mesa Blvd./ Sorrento Valley Rd.
* Take a right at the stoplight at the bottom of the off-ramp. (take note: No right turn on Red light)
* Proceed @ 1 mile to stoplight at Sorrento Valley Blvd.
* Left on Sorrento Valley Blvd & cross Railroad tracks.
* Right on Roselle St., and stay to the right to avoid freeway on-ramp.

* Get on I-15 south (or north) to the Ted Williams Pkwy/56 West.
* Proceed @ 9.5 miles to I-5 south on your left
* Proceed @ 1 mile to Carmel Mountain Rd. exit on your right
* Turn Right onto Carmel Mountain Rd.
* Turn Left at stop light onto Sorrento Valley Rd. and proceed a little over a mile to the stop light at Sorrento Valley Blvd.
* Turn Right onto Sorrento Valley Blvd and cross railroad tracks.
* Right on Roselle St., and stay to the right to avoid freeway on-ramp.
