Labor-Community Coalition Breakfast
A coalition of labor, community, faith, environmental and civil rights organizations have joined together to imagine a better San Diego and start working to achieve it. Next Friday, join us as we kick off our series of monthly breakfast forums to learn about and discuss the issues facing our communities and possible solutions.
Our first breakfast forum will be held on Friday, January 20th at 8 a.m. We will hear from leaders in the San Diego Unified School District about the district’s Community-Based School Reform model. Presenters include School Board Trustee Richard Barrera, Central Elementary School Principal Cindy Marten, and San Diego Education Association President Bill Freeman.

Occupy the Courts – Move to Amend – protest vs Citizens United
On Friday, 130 cities (and still counting) are holding rallies to participate in Occupy the Courts – a one-day protest at federal courthouses across the United States – including the US Supreme Court. Here in San Diego:

Where: San Diego Federal Courthouse
Join us for speakers Mike Aguirre & Lori Saldana plus a performance by the “Women Occupy San Diego Occupellas” as part of the National Occupy the Courts day.
Inspired by Occupy Wall Street, and Dr. Cornel West, Move To Amend is planning bold action to mark the second anniversary of the infamous Citizens United v. FEC decision.
Occupy the Courts is a one day event at Federal courthouses across the country, including the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C., on Friday January 20, 2012, to lead the charge against the judiciary which created — and continues to expand — corporate personhood rights.
In San Diego we will be at the San Diego Federal Courthouse, 880 Front Street, San Diego 92101. (Just south of Broadway). There will be events throughout the day but we will have speakers and a performance by Women Occupy San Diego’s Occupellas in the 12-1 pm hour.
Speakers include former San Diego City Attorney Michael Aguirre, and Lori, Saldaña, a local educator who served six years in the California Legislature and who is running for Congress in district 52.
Vista Courthouse
We will demonstrate on Friday, January 20 from 8am till about 9:30am at the Vista Courthouse as part of Occupy the Courts, a nationwide protest against the Citizens United decision (graphic attached). See Occupy San Diego on Facebook or elsewhere on the web. Occupy Vista has invited the other North County Occupy groups to join us at the Vista courthouse, the only major courthouse in North County.

Roe v Wade Anniversary Rally and March
On Sunday, January 22, 2012, the Radical Feminists of Occupy San Diego are hosting the Roe v. Wade Anniversary Abortion and Reproductive Rights Rally, March, and Speak-Out.
A rally with speakers will be held from 1-1:30 in the Civic Center Plaza (or Freedom Plaza – nicknamed by Occupy San Diego), followed by a march downtown and an open-mic speakout.
The event is to commemorate the 38th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion on a federal level in 1973, and to protest the many restrictions on abortion rights and access.

I am going to jail in San Diego, California for speaking the truth of a fraud in public health policy that benefits the US Chamber of Commerce affiliates and has been aided by the compromised courts of California, primarily in the San Diego branch. Mayorial candidate Bonnie Dumanis knows all about it. Although this would be a massive fraud she could stop in her role as DA, she has done nothing to stop cronyism in the San Diego judicial branch that harms not only citizens of SD county, but citizens all across the US – while it tromples the Constitution of the United States to the benefit of Bonnie’s buddies.
