Liberals are reluctant to learn any lesson from 9/11. The though that islam is a religion that encourages evil from its mindless followers will always escape them.

While maybe not a full blown “progressive”, I do consider my self a liberal. I even voted for Barry. How about that? I’m also a retired Navy vet and still work for the DoD as a civilian employee. When 9/11 happened I was deployed onboard the USS Peleliu. Despite that, I still think we’re wasting our time in Afghanistan and at the very least should have NEVER invaded Iraq. If you know how to operate a doorknob and have a pulse then this shouldn’t be the first time you’ve seen a point of view like this. You may want to tone down the generalizations.

Barry- do you have a theory to explain why Japanese Americans were rounded up and sent to relocation camps during WWII but German Americans weren’t?

I checked out the website you provided and it reminded me of this one

Another lesson in “a religion that encourages evil in its mindless followers.” I believe it’s called “propaganda.”

Barry, this just thrust itself into my mind after reading your (very narrow) comment: the thought that Christianity is a religion that encourages evil from its mindless followers will always escape those who rail against other religions. How many have been killed in the name of Jesus Christ? How many Catholics killed non-believers? How many Protestants killed Catholics? How many Christians killed Jews? This list goes on.

On paper, Christianity, like Islam, calls for tolerance, peace and kindness towards others. It’s what happens in practice – like all things – that counts in the end.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t trying to sum up all religion in that breathless paragraph. It was Barry’s mindless rant against Islam that got to me.
