MoveOn, the national organization with 5 million members, is keeping the pressure on San Diego’s local Congressional representatives, and the pressure is on for jobs. With a theme of “Jobs Not Cuts”, MoveOn is planning on a series of rallies at the Congressional offices Wednesday, August 10th.
MoveOn has actually been one of the key organization that has of late formed a huge, nation-wide coalition under the title of “American Dream Movement” – a coalition that Van Jones has called for earlier this year. Jones is the former Obama czar of green jobs who was forced to resign due to pressure from the right-wing.
In San Diego County, there are three events Wednesday. First and second, there are rallies in front of the offices of Duncan Hunter and Brian Bilbray. These will be held at noon. Then at 4pm, there’s a third rally in front of Congresswoman Susan Davis’ office.
Between the three rallies, over 200 people have already signed up to attend. Nearly 100 have signed up for the Davis event itself.

I know the rag pretty good.. I feel like these guy’s are beating their heads against a brick wsall. maybe we should just state up front up front what our philosophy is stead of acting all ofended when some one says something ytou don’t like. Another thing that would be helpful, would be if you could state your’e place of residence.

I was alittle looped when I wrote that. Couldn’t you guys tell.
Ah… yeah!
We had a great rally over at Duncan Hunter’s office in El Cajon. About 40 of us showed and listened to a few speakers calling for more jobs. We also delivered the Contract to Rebuild the American Dream to Mr. Hunter’s staff (he was no where to be seen). Local NBC and a TV station from Mexico turned up, plus the Californian, a local newspaper. Lots of energy and motivation by folks to take our country back from the very rich and the mega-corporations, who BTW don’t pay their share of taxes.
Don’t forget – we will be at Susan Davis’ office this afternoon at 4pm; her office is at 2700 Adams Ave.
I might be out of line, but I was trying to make a point . It just seems that alot of us (Ragsters) do a whole lot of “Bitching” and when you guys are trying to get people to respond on your website or maybe show up in person the response is thin.But publish some jnfo on how screwed we’re getting, we get plenty of comments. I’m talking about stuff like actually taking action. I know that alot of us aren;t in OB,so at least we could at least say something ,or do something. I’m not trying to ring my own bell,but, my Ford Ranger doesn’t get good enough gas mileage (23mpg) so I spent my money on a Toyota Tercel (45mpg).As soon as electric cars are in my meager price range, I’m going for one. Any little action will make a difference.Even voting,which I can’t do in this state. Or when your not doing nothing,get your butt out there.
