On Thursday, May 12th, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, veteran members of all five military services and friends of the San Diego Veterans For Peace (Hugh Thompson Memorial Chapter #91) will be bannering on the 6th Avenue overpass of I-5 against the continuance of the unjust and budget-breaking wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. With the recent death of Osama Bin Laden, it appears to many that the time is NOW to bring our brothers and sisters home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Come meet and interview Elliott Adams, President of the national Veterans For Peace organization and Will Covert, international peace activist, who will be participating in the bannering.

Chapter members and friends of the San Diego Veterans For Peace, a national 501-C-3 veterans educational organization, will be participating at the 6th Avenue overpass of I-5 (on 6th Avenue between Elm and Cedar) from 3:30 to 5:30 PM, Thursday, May 12th, 2011.

Veterans will be out on the overpass demonstrating against the continuance of these unjustified and expensive wars, to remind commuters that the wars continue and should end now.

CONTACT:  Gil Field, Director of Communications, San Diego Veterans For Peace, 858-342-1964.

Hat tip to Dan Morales.
