100th Anniversary Celebration of the “Tijuana Comuna”

On Saturday, May 14, we’ll be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the victory of the Magonista liberation army and establishment of a short-lived commune in Tijuana with a book release event for Flash (AK Press) by Jim Miller and an acoustic show at the Purple Haus.

All proceeds raised will go to technology needs of the Seccion 22 teachers’ union in Oaxaca. Purple Haus is located at 2561 44th Street, San Diego, CA

Here’s what the celebration’ll look like:

5 pmVegan Indian food will be available for purchase for $5. There will also be home-brewed wheat beer!

6 pmJim Miller will be doing a reading and taking questions about his new novel, Flash, that deals with the radical history of SD and contemporary struggles

7 pm – Prairie Tenor String Band (Labor Folk)

8 pmElektra Thunderbunny willl regale us with old IWW songs and stories
