A former manager at the San Onofre nuclear plant in North County said Wednesday that he was fired after complaining to nuclear regulators that his superiors were ignoring worker complaints. Paul Diaz, 35, of Oceanside, said he tried to go through channels within the plant when people he supervised raised questions, but was shot down.
“I needed to do something,” he said. And so he went to Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspectors based at the plant. He was then fired from his job in October as manager of business accounting and project services.
Southern California Edison, the owner of the plant, said Diaz’s complaints were evaluated and found to be without merit. A spokesman wouldn’t comment on the specifics of the lawsuit, but said the company takes worker complaints seriously.

Not a rubber stamp company man, plus a whistle-blower = gone..
Big business = profits 1st.
Nukes built in areas with known faults = brilliant. We’ve seen how well that worked in Japan (couldn’t happen there, until it did) – but – “it can’t happen here” – that is, until it does.
Yet there seems to be little public concern – so maybe it’s just best to start practicing putting one’s head between one’s legs, & kissing ones @$$ goodbye.
Hey, who cares, as long as the corporations are happy (& generious political contributers).
