We awoke to several new drips and leaks this morning under the flat portion of our roof. So Patty and I had to get up on the roof in the middle of the light rain storm and unclog the drains, brush the water into them and shovel off the sand from all the sandbags we had put up there back in February.
There is a flat section of roof on this house with acouple of serious leaks, and last February we placed a huge blue tarp over that section of the roof, anchored down by about 50 sandbags. By now, months later, the blue tarp is totally shredded and destroyed and all except maybe 8 sandbags have deteriorated.
So all this meant we were not able to get to the website and post new articles. We apologize for that but we had to deal with all this water coming in from the Pineapple Express that is walloping California and the West Coast. There’s even a serious leak in our OB Rag office – but we have it covered.
We’ll be up and running sooner than later and we ask for your patience.

The leak in the office is pretty bad and I had worried about having to get up in the night to empty the bucket… So I came up with a plan! We put an ice chest under the leak and I attached a hose to the ice chest drain and ran the hose out the window. Works like a charm!
Any roofers out there want to trade some roofing for a website?
Frank: If you own the digs, get a licensed roofer out there to fix it once and for all. If your renting, your landlord should on top of this to maintain a “safe living environment” for you. Stay dry my friend.

Steve, plus that’s the damnest thing about this here great Recession: money’s tight – we don’t have the couple grand or more it would take to hire and do the repair. So, we muddle through, jerry-rigging and trying to prevent the worse.
