To date, I’m strongly apposed to installing Smart Meters at my home.
Here’s why:
- Smart Meters pose known and unknown health risks.
When I first heard about Smart Meters, I had zero concern about SDG&E installing one of them on my house.
The only thing I thought about it was that the SDG&E PR Team had pulled off a pretty slick trick in getting people to go for a system that charged them more money per kWh if they used their appliances when it was convenient for them to use them, based on the promises that they might save money if they used their appliances when it was convenient for SDG&E.
But later I began hearing about people having health problems after Smart Meters were installed so I spent some time on the web researching “Smart Meter Health Problems.”
What I found is that there are more and more people coming forward with health problems which begin occurring after their conventional meters were replaced by “Smart Meters.” One particular video of interest is “The Dark Side of Smart Meters” which you can see by typing it into your search engine. The video features Rob States who has several engineering degrees, two from MIT US and MIT France and years of professional consulting experience. This lecture was given at a Smart Meter Conference in the San Francisco organized by the Tesla Institute.
His presentation shows that the closer we are to Smart Meters, the more we will be inundated by the numerous forces, frequencies and magnetic fields that they emit. That some of these forces, frequencies and fields are already known to cause health problems and Smart Meters give off numerous other forces, frequencies and fields that scientists are still coming to understand. Additionally, the health and environmental problems caused by being in close proximity to Smart Meters has been barely researched.
Bottom line, we are dealing with human caused forces, frequencies and fields that never existed in our lives until a few years ago; forces, frequencies and fields we don’t completely understand much less understand the health risks of being inundated by them. With so much unknown about the health and environmental impact of Smart Meters, it’s much too soon to subject the public to such health effect uncertainties.
We need more non-vested interest testing to ensure that being in close proximity with the various forces, frequencies and fields that Smart Meters emanate will not cause health problems to even the most vulnerable of us like fetuses, the young and those more sensitive to such emanations.
Some of the things I’m doing to protect my health include:

NO TRESPASSING.
I was just getting into my Smart Meter Health Problems research when I happened to catch two Smart Meter installers on my property a couple of days apart. I told them that I didn’t want a Smart Meter installed on my property and that even my preliminary research on Smart Meters had convinced me of this. After these two incidents, a nice woman from SDG&E called to convince me to let the Smart Meter be installed.
But after 20 minutes of conversation I was even surer that I was correct to refuse Smart Meter installations on my property. I also believe that my right to do this is spelled out in the US Declaration of Independence in the following quote:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Having a Smart Meter installed on my house or on my property against my will is not only an assault on my life and the lives of my roommates, it restricts our freedom to feel safe in our house and on our property.
Additionally, having a Smart Meter installation on my property certainly will not make me or my roommates happy.

So you might as well just accept your smart meter if you ain’t one of those guys.
Forces, frequencies, and fields… oh my! It’s like Dorothy wandered into a beginning physics class.
As for your rights, if you don’t want a smart meter, don’t do business with SDG&E. You don’t have the right to compel another entity to do business with you under terms that you alone specify. If you and the other entity can’t agree to terms, your option is to not do business with them.
You must be new to San Diego and unaware of SDGE’s monopoly on juice in this town.

Yes, as we all know SDGE always operates in the best interests of its customers. We should consider these smart meters a gift.
You should consider this a gift from the CPUC.

SDGE meter changer left a neighbors gate open & their dog got loose. It took hours to find him.
Is this supposed to be a pro-smart meter comment? Because, y’know, if an SDG&E employee isn’t passing through that gate once a month to read the meter, then the chances of an SDG&E employee letting the dog out lessen greatly.
Some meter readers use a sight glass and never go in the yard.
Yup…and at least once a year that little telescope dealio used to have me on the phone in a rage with SDG&E at my old house…
If SDGE has the monopoly on the juice in San Diego then it should be more than obviously apparent that there is no freedom of choice. That’s the problem when dealing with a monopoly. If I had the option of going with another company because I don’t want what SDGE is offering I would, but I can’t. It’s thier way or the highway. Its wrong, it’s a stong arm, and it is a direct violation of your civil rights under the constitution and as an American it’s your civic duty to not only inform fellow Americans of the potential dangers and hazards, it’s also your right to deny any forced or unwanted items in or on your home. Defend it and your families at all costs within the law and keep these terrorist away from your homes.
SDG&E or Sempra is a regulated company. The Public Utilities Commission, or PUC, is one of many unelected state commissions that tells this utility what it can or cannot do to its customers.
If you love your smart meter thank an environmentalist. The meters are an attempt to avoid building new power plants in California by directing use to off peak times.
You don’t have a constitutional right to have power delivered to your home. If you don’t like SDG&E you’re free to stop being a customer.
Majority of smart meters using power line communications, and are safer than cell-phones.
But agree that when they are put there to SAVE SDGE manpower reading the meters, it should be FREE, not adding a surcharge to pay for them.
Then there’s the future “benefit” of charging electricity by time instead of amount.
Don’t like them ? They’re even easier to have a problem than the old ones.
I must not be reading my SDG&E bill closely enough. I’m not noticing a smart meter surcharge. Is it labeled as something else?
No. The CEO of Sempra, Michael Allman, paid for them all personally. They were a gift, like I said.
Ten years ago I started a 2 year job as a contractor for a cell phone company, working on their cell towers in Texas, Florida, and Louisiana. I did notice that there are birds living up on top of the cell towers right along-side the antennae which put out a lot more radiation than a Smart Meter would.
I have heard of men working up there with the power applied to the antennae getting nose-bleeds from the exposure.
I have noticed that the birds don’t seem to mind the radiation at all.
I have heard humans complain loudly and longly about the dangers to which they are exposed by living near a tower, and I have not heard of anyone actually doing a study on the birds that live right next to the antennae.
If it doesn’t kill the birds, it probably won’t kill humans.
If it does, then that would be another story.
